Born in New Westminster and raised in Richmond, B.C., John obtained his diploma in Civil and Structural Technology from the BC Institute of Technology in 1983. He worked in various structural, civil and geotechnical positions until 1987.

He then relocated to Nanaimo as part of his engineering career with Armtec as Branch Manager where he worked for nearly 20 years. In 2006, he left to work at Lewkowich Engineering and became an owner in 2008. In 2015, he became president when the founder Gerry Lewkowich retired.

In addition to spending time with family, John’s favourite pastimes include boating, fishing , exercising, and tinkering with old cars.
